What is Profhilo?
Profhilo® is an injectable skin remodelling treatment made from a high concentration of pure hyaluronic acid. After injection, it spreads beneath the skin, deeply hydrating the tissue while stimulating your own collagen and elastin. Unlike dermal fillers, which replace lost volume, Profhilo flows evenly through the skin to improve hydration, elasticity and firmness across the whole treated area. The result is healthier, more radiant skin that develops a natural glow over the weeks after treatment.
How does Profhilo work?
As we age, the skin produces less collagen, elastin and hyaluronic acid, so it loses hydration, firmness and elasticity. Profhilo replenishes hyaluronic acid within the skin and stimulates fibroblast cells to produce fresh collagen and elastin. Rather than masking the signs of ageing, it supports healthier skin from within, improving hydration, elasticity and overall skin quality.

How Profhilo compares
Profhilo vs polynucleotides
Both improve skin quality but have different strengths. Profhilo focuses on deep hydration and skin remodelling with hyaluronic acid while stimulating collagen. Polynucleotides focus more on tissue repair, regeneration and calming inflammation, so they suit crepey skin, dark circles, sun damage and rosacea-prone skin. Profhilo tends to suit dehydrated or dull skin and mild laxity. Some people benefit from both, and Dr Cat will advise what suits you.
Profhilo vs Radiesse
Both stimulate collagen, but in different ways. Profhilo focuses on deep hydration while improving elasticity and skin quality. Radiesse works more on firming and tightening, so it suits more noticeable skin laxity. If your main concern is dehydration and dullness, Profhilo is usually the better fit. If firmness is the priority, I may recommend Radiesse instead.
