About The Treatment

What are Dental Implants?

Dental implants are titanium posts placed in the jawbone to replace a missing tooth root. Once the implant has bonded with the bone, a crown is fitted to restore the tooth’s appearance and function. The result looks, feels and works like a natural tooth.

Losing a tooth affects more than your smile. It can change how you eat, speak, and feel about yourself. A dental implant is the closest replacement for what you’ve lost.

Implants at Teeth & Face are placed by Dr Jas Bajwa, an experienced implant dentist with a special interest in oral surgery. Jas has completed extensive training in implant dentistry, including bone grafting, sinus lifts and full-arch treatment. That means he can treat everything from a single missing tooth to a full arch.

Benefits of Dental Implants

  • Looks and feels like a natural tooth

A dental implant is the closest possible replacement for a missing tooth. The crown is colour-matched and shaped to blend in completely.

  • Restores full function

Eat, speak, and smile without restriction. A dental implant works just like the tooth it replaces.

  • Preserves the jawbone

When a tooth is lost, the bone underneath begins to deteriorate. An implant stimulates the bone and prevents this from happening.

  • Long lasting

With the right care, dental implants can last a lifetime. They are one of the most durable tooth replacement options available.

  • Calm and unhurried care

Jas takes time to explain every step and is known for putting nervous patients at ease.

FAQS

Your Dental Implants Questions Answered

Everything you need to know about Dental Implants at Teeth & Face. Can't find your answer? Get in touch, and we'll be happy to help.

How long do dental implants last?

With good care, dental implants can last many years, often decades. The implant itself is a long-term solution, while the crown attached to it may need replacing over time through normal wear. Daily brushing, cleaning between your teeth, and regular check-ups and hygiene appointments are what get the most out of your dental implants.

Are dental implants painful?

Dental implants are placed under local anaesthetic, so you should not feel pain during treatment. Most patients are surprised by how comfortable it is, often comparing it to a routine extraction. Some mild soreness or swelling for a few days afterwards is normal and settles quickly with ordinary pain relief. Your surgeon, Jas Bajwa, is highly experienced at keeping nervous patients relaxed from start to finish.

Am I suitable for dental implants?

Most healthy adults with one or more missing teeth are suitable for dental implants. The main requirements are healthy gums and enough bone to support the implant. Where bone is limited, options such as bone grafting can often still make treatment possible. The only way to know for certain is a full assessment with Jas Bajwa, who will examine your mouth, take scans and talk you through your options.

Are dental implants safe?

Yes, dental implants are a well-established, safe treatment with a high long-term success rate when placed by a trained clinician. As with any minor procedure there are small risks, which your dentist will assess and explain beforehand, along with whether your gums and bone are healthy enough to support an implant.

Are dental implants worth it?

For many patients, yes. Implants look and function like natural teeth, help protect the jawbone, and can last for decades with good care. They cost more upfront than bridges or dentures, but their longevity often makes them better value over time. The right option depends on your budget, oral health and goals.
